Ex-Indian cricketer Ambati Rayudu announces his exit from YSRCP, which makes U-Turn

In a surprising turn of events, former Indian cricketer and Chennai Super Kings star Ambati Rayudu revealed on Saturday morning that he is bidding farewell to the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP), marking a notable U-turn in his political journey.

Taking to ‘X’ Rayudu shared the decision to step away from the political realm, coupled with a temporary hiatus from active political engagement. His social media post conveyed, “This is to inform everyone that I have decided to quit the YSRCP Party and stay out of politics for a little while. Further action will be conveyed in due course. Thank You.”


The cricketer’s association with YSRCP commenced in December of the previous year, with his induction witnessed by prominent figures like Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister K Narayana Swamy, and Rajampeta Lok Sabha member P Mithun Reddy.

Ambati Rayudu, renowned for his contributions to the Indian cricket team in international tournaments and his participation in the Indian Premier League (IPL), has a history of representing various state cricket bodies. His recent foray into politics added an intriguing chapter to his post-cricketing career.

While the circumstances leading to Rayudu’s departure from YSRCP remain undisclosed, the unexpected move has stirred discussions among political circles and cricket enthusiasts alike.
