Rain forced a draw in the fourth test match of the Ashes Series between England and Australia; Australia led the series 2-1
The Australia and England cricket teams were squaring off against each other in the 4th test match of the Ashes series 2023 in Manchester. But because of rainfall on the final day of the game, the match ended in a draw. As a result of this, the Pat Cummins-led Team Australia retained the series with a 2-1 lead in the five-match series. Now only one match is remaining.
The Australia cricket team had posted a target of 270 runs in the first innings after being asked to bat first after England won the toss. In reply to this, England was solid, with a total of 592 runs on the board. Then the visitors were 214 for 5 in their second innings and were trailing England by 61 runs. Marnus Labuschagne’s stoic century, given support by Mitch Marsh, allowed Australia to ensure that an innings loss looked less and less likely. But then the weather in Manchester spoiled everything as it started raining, which concluded the match in a draw.
