Ex-Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra on India's T20 World Cup 2024 selection

Former opener of Indian cricket team Aakash Chopra said on Sunday that swashbuckling opener Yashasvi Jaiswal is undroppable from Team India at the moment, and it would be unfair if he were not included in the squad for the ICC T20 World Cup this year in the West Indies and the USA.

In the second Twenty20 International in Indore, Jaiswal's outstanding run in Twenty20 International cricket continued as the southpaw's explosive half-century helped India win the series against Afghanistan. While speaking following India's win, Chopra said that Jaiswal is now above Shubman Gill in the pecking order in T20Is.

Chopra said, Yashasvi is going. Again, the way he is batting. You will feel it would be unfair if you did not take him. Sometimes you are undroppable, meaning he is selectable. That is why he is here, making runs. Now he has gone beyond (Shubman) Gill. You won't be able to touch him now, though.
