Rohit Sharma led Team India are all set to leave for the Asia Cup on August 29
The Indian Cricket Team continues their Asia Cup 2023 training camp in Alur. While the players enjoyed a break on Sunday, they took an active part in team meetings. But the main focus of attention was on KL Rahul, who is on the road to regain full fitness. The Indian cricket team is ready to leave for Sri Lanka on Tuesday, August 29th.
KL Rahul, who had hamstring surgery, is recovering and returning to full fitness. Despite undergoing some grueling keeping practice sessions, the 31-year-old complained of some distress and is already ruled out of the India vs. Pakistan match. However, reports claim that the team and the medical unit are satisfied with KL Rahul's improvement. On the other hand, Shreyas Iyer has also recovered well from his back injury.
The Chairman of the BCCI Selection Committee, Ajit Agarkar, previously made it clear that Rahul is going to miss the IND vs. PAK clash with a small niggle, and therefore, in his place, Ishan Kishan is going to be the wicketkeeper. India also has backup with the likes of Sanju Samson as a traveling reserve. But with Rahul making steady progress, he should likely be fit for the Nepal game.
Jasprit Bumrah and other cricketers who were a part of the India vs. Ireland T20I series will join the camp on Monday and undergo some match practice sessions before flying off to Sri Lanka on Tuesday, i.e., August 29th.
