Sourav Ganguly shatters the theory’ behind the defeat in the WTC final with a powerful 'Rahane' remark

Image
The Indian cricket team faced a disappointing defeat in the finals of the World Test Championship earlier this month. Australia’s cricket team, led by Pat Cummins, defeated India by 209 runs, as India was looking far from their best in a weak performance at The Oval. All members of the Indian squad bar Cheteshwar Pujara arrived in England shortly before the WTC Final   that too in different batches because of respective schedules in the 2023 Indian Premier League  and after the loss, the Indian team management was criticised for not allocating enough time to adapting to English conditions. In an interview, former India captain Sourav Ganguly opened up about the debate that the Indian team was undercooked due to the IPL. Ganguly said, “I don’t agree with this theory. Ajinkya Rahane also played in the IPL, and he played very well during the IPL and World Test Championship finals. So I don’t believe in this theory. Some of the Australian boys (Cameron Green, David Warner) played well in t...

R. Ashwin's Funny Comment To Jonny Bairstow Carrying Pitch Invader Off The Ground During The 2nd Ashes Test

Image
India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin came out with a funny comment after England wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow carried a protester off the ground as climate activists briefly interrupted play on the first day of the second Ashes Test at Lord's on Wednesday. Just before Stuart Broad bowled the second over, two protesters from Just Stop Oil, an environmental activist group that wants an end to new oil and gas exploration in the North Sea, ran out of the Grandstand and onto the outfield, sprinkling the group's trademark orange powder on the square but not on the pitch. Watch the  video  here. While uploading the video on Twitter, Ashwin wrote: "Good start to the second test. Bairstow has done some heavy lifting already." The Metropolitan Police later reported that they had arrested three people.

India's three-match Twenty20 International trip of Ireland has been scheduled

Image
India's tour in the shortest format will take place later this year, according to latest information from Cricket Ireland. India, the top-ranked men's T20I team, will return to Malahide for a three-match T20I series with dates of August 18, August 20, and August 23. Prior to this, in 2022, India and Ireland engaged in a thrilling two-match T20I series that the Men in Blue won 2-0. Both games were intense contests, and Ireland was unfortunate not to come away with at least one noteworthy victory. The world's best T20I team returning for a second straight year is a testament to the skill and toughness of the current Irish team and a suitable way to cap off the summer's domestic international matches. "We're delighted to welcome India Men back to Ireland for the second time in 12 months," Cricket Ireland CEO Warren Deutrom stated in response to the news. The fact that this year's series will consist of three games should allow even more people to at...

Big Revelation from BCCI Source on India Squad for WI Tests

Image
Veteran of 103 Tests Cheteshwar Pujara got dropped from the Test Squad of Team India, which is touring the West Indies, after a poor performance in the World Test Championship against Team Australia. He has been dropped from the XI or squad as many as four times in his long Test career of 13 years, and every time he has managed to stage a comeback. But the fifth time might be different. It may be a bit too much for even someone as stubborn as Pujara to come back from here on. After cementing his place in the Indian Test side in the home series against New Zealand in August 2012, Pujara lost his place in the Indian Test XI when he was benched for the last Test against Australia at Sydney in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in 2014-15. A year later, he was dropped from the XI again in the West Indies when then-captain Virat Kohli was openly critical of Pujara's strike rate. In the 2018 tour of England, KL Rahul was picked before Pujara in the series opener. Once again, he made a comeback i...
